Obituary of John Terence Cove

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John on Saturday September 19, 2020 at London’s University Hospital at the age of 71. Loving husband and best friend to Cathy. Cherished father to Tyler (Marvella), Leigh and three fur baby friends Jaxon, Mulligan and Bird. Beloved son of Jack and Doris Cove and beloved brother to sisters Joan (Joe) and Linda (Rob). John will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. John was employed at both Sifto and Wescast respectively. He remembers his co-workers fondly and had been making the best of retirement. As an engineer there was never a shortage of projects and plans in the hopper. John gave generously of his time having been a volunteer for Goderich Scouts, and the GDCI Robotics team. He served for 10 years as President of the Goderich Minor Soccer Association and served a term on the YMCA Board of Management. Most recently John has been one of a group of dedicated volunteers helping maintain the outdoor ice rink. As per John’s wishes there was no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Menesetung Bridge Association in John’s memory. For his family each and to those who knew him, every minute is a celebration of having John in their lives. Due to COVID we have no Celebration of Life planned. However nothing would make John happier than if those who knew him and cared most would drop in and have a GOOD cup of tea or a craft beer with the family and share memories and remembrances.
