We wish to send our condolences. We were neighbours of Romaynes for many years. Our children and I would often visit her and Jack and have tea with them. She was a wonderful woman. She will be missed.

Nancy & I send you our deepest sympathies in the passing of your Mom.
What wonderful memories we have of visiting Romayne in Clinton or here in Guelph when Mom would take her on an outing to wherever. Sometimes this would include a stop or a meal in Guelph. Always alert, she rose to any occasion with humour, much laughter and total enjoyment. We visited Romayne and Jack on numerous occasions at their home and many years ago travelled with my mother and them to Shelbourne, ON for the Old Time Fiddling Contest. They were so proud of their neat little house and the gardens that surrounded it. According to my Mom, Helen, the flowers wanted to grow to please the resident gardeners.
Young people were special to Romayne, especially her own grandchildren. There was, however, always room to include other wee ones and our own were certainly included in that embrace.
During the last two summers we were able to visit Romayne at Huronview while staying at a cottage near Bayfield. She was so happy to see and hear all the news of our family and us, and was as sharp as ever with her usual humorous retorts. Both times she cheerfully gave us one of the dish cloths that she had so lovingly made to pass her time. We have used them as she intended and so appreciate them.
You will have so many wonderful remembrances and memories to replace the present sorrow and more will appear from long-forgotten events to add more warmth to your memories.
Sincerely,
Nancy and Douglas

To Larry and Shirley and your families. Aunt Romayne was my Great Aunt, and as you know, she was GREAT in every sense of the word. Her sense of humour, her laughter, her love of her family are all things that I will always remember and cherish. Her keen memory and the stories she told always amazed me, and we had so many laughs together. Our family trips to Chesley Lake with Aunt Romayne and Uncle Jack, and our visits to their home in Clinton, are just a few of the wonderful memories I hold dear. To know her was to love her, and boy did we all love her. My sincere sympathy to each one of you. You have lost someone very dear, but heaven has gained another angel to watch over us. xoxoxoxo

Romayne was such a joy to know. Always very positive and ready for any road trip. Visits with her were an inspiration to us all. From her farm days she was a great baker. Boy did I know when to show up. To see Gramma Melizza of course. Loved by all who met her.

Larry, Janet and all of Romayne's family: My deepest sympathy to you all. Romayne was a very special lady and our friendship goes back a long time. She was so sweet and kind and when my Mom was at Huronview, Romayne showed friendship and concern for her and sympathy to my family when mom passed away. I spoke to Romayne two or three weeks ago and I promised I would be out to visit her again, but that was not to be. I am so sad and will miss her very much. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

Thinking of your whole family, such an amazing lady who will be greatly missed. Will miss her greeting every morning asking about the twins always keeping up to date on what they’re doing and letting me know what nice handwriting I have. Always putting others before herself and just the most genuinely sweet person!
