Janis will be fondly remembered for her deep passion and interest of our community and the co-keeper of the Blyth repository. I so enjoyed her sense of humour and kindness as I often received a note or a card in the mail that added just a little bit more to my understanding of family and community.

So sorry to hear the news about Janice. Best wishes to Brock and family. She was my grade 8 teacher at Walton school and much later a wonderful neighbour to our son and d-in-law in Blyth. Her expertise with family history was a gift she shared with all.

Dear Brock - I was so sorry to read about Janis' passing. She was a very special lady. I enjoyed meeting her through our common interest in genealogy but also enjoyed hearing her stories about growing up, living up north and her teaching days.
