Dear Alec and Mary Anne
Us ‘girls across the road’ are all deeply sad to hear the news about our dear and wonderful neighbour John. We only ever experienced a small piece of the larger than life person John was so we can’t even imagine how this must feel to you both and to the rest of his family. John was a giant among men. He was kind, gentle, compassionate, generous and always had a story to tell. He cared so much, always worried for us as we worked away across from you, always ready to lend a hand when he could. And when he couldn’t he gave a word of encouragement, a hand on our shoulder and even the odd hug. We will miss seeing him around the property always busy even when he had to slow down. Always getting the cars in and out. Always waving and best of all, always smiling. I will always treasure his last words I recall him saying “you take care you hear...” rest easy dear John.see you again someday. (John 5:28,29)

Uncle John.
Where does a nephew start? How do you describe someone that was always larger than life? When he was visiting, there were always great stories to hear him tell, and that laugh of his could fill a room. He was the one person whose stories were better than Mom's. It was all in his delivery. He could bring his stories to a thundering climax (BOOM!), only for his voice to fall to a gentle serenity the next minute. Although I'll never hear another of those stories, I'll always be able to hear his voice, his laugh, and remember how good it felt to be around him.
Love you Uncle John.

John always came into to the pharmacy with a smile on his face and a gracious demeanor. I will miss his loving nature, quick chats and ability to brighten my day. My deepest sympathy as you all move forward with this sudden loss. May your new guardian angel keep you at peace.
