Obituary of Dianne Elizabeth Stevenson

Dianne Elizabeth STEVENSON

(July 24, 1948 - September 5, 2018)

On Wednesday, September 5th, with her family by her side, and in the comfort of her daughter’s home, in Newmarket, Ontario, in her 71st year, Dianne Elizabeth Stevenson (nee Herman) peacefully ended her journey with Pancreatic Cancer.   Dianne was predeceased by her loving husband, Otto Dannenberg and her Father and Mother, Cecil and Magdalene Herman. She was a devoted and loving mother to David Stevenson of Waterdown, Darren Stevenson of Clinton and Luanne (Jeremy) Neilands of Newmarket. Even more loved are her grandchildren Callum and Leah Stevenson, Jackson and Ella Neilands and Jager (Grand-dog).  Dianne is also survived by her brothers Wayne (Sandy) Herman, Ron (Wendy) Herman, and only sister, Betty Ann (Mack) Peverill, all of Cambridge. She will be missed by aunts and uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dianne maintained and valued her lasting relationships from her first marriage to Paul Stevenson. Dianne’s love of music and teaching lead her to the Royal Conservatory of Ontario and during her long career with the Avon Maitland District School Board, she also taught piano and accordion privately. Mom was an active member of the Clinton United Church, President of the Clinton Hospital Auxiliary and throughout her life shared her musical gift. Mom will be remembered by many for her infectious laugh, beautiful smile and ability to bring light into every room she entered.  At her request, cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, Mom has requested that donations be made to either the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation or the Clinton United Church. Friends and family will be received Friday, September 14 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Falconer Funeral Home, 153 High Street, Clinton, Ontario. A visitation will also be held Saturday, September 15, at the Clinton United Church, 105 Ontario Street, Clinton, Ontario, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM where the funeral will take place at that time.

The music may have ended but Mom’s song will always remain.
