Obituary – Sebastian Joseph Cino
March 10, 1945 – October 9, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sam Cino on October 9th.
He lived his life with great passion and humour and was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, teacher and coach.
He leaves his wife of fifty-one years, Patricia, and their daughter Catherine (Kelly), their son Michael (Laura) and their five grandchildren Kieran, Rowan, Sebastian, Cameron and Anna. He will also be missed by his brother Gus (Joan) and sister Mary, his sisters and brothers in-law, and his many nieces and nephews.
His life was enriched by many special lifelong friendships and interests from his childhood, his time at King’s University College and Western University, and throughout his career and retirement. He enjoyed his summers in Port Albert with his family and his golf buddies, his annual reunions at Western and his regular guys nights out for sports, cards, and camaraderie.
Football was a lifelong passion. He was a star player on the Cathedral Boys High School team and played for the Western Mustangs until injury cut his football career short. He coached senior and junior football and soccer teams throughout his teaching career, achieving many city championships and touching the lives of many athletes.
We wish to thank his health-care team from the London Regional Cancer Program and his nurse practitioner Alison Clark. We are especially grateful for the health care professionals and volunteers at the Huron Residential Hospice who made us feel at home and provided compassionate care and support.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 29th from 2-4 p.m. in the Atrium at the RBG Centre.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Huron Residential Hospice in Clinton, Ontario at https://www.huronresidentialhospice.com/.
