Cor and I were shocked to hear of Dorothys' passing while doing what she enjoyed. The last we saw her was after our square dance AGM at Clinton Lions Park. There we enjoyed a hike after the meeting. We met Mel and Dorothy through square dancing many years ago. We shared in their friendship and hospitality when they hosted dinner and games days. She enjoyed square dancing and would attend the camporee at Blyth. She was proud of her children and her grandchildren, often sharing updates on their progress. You will miss her but we hope the special memories of good times will not be forgotten. Sending condolences to you all on your loss. Cor & Gerda VandenHoven

We were deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Dorothy. We have known Mel and Dorothy for many years through Lions and Square and Round Dancing. She was so happy when we volunteered with her for the 4H Olde Time Square Dance Club. She truly loved working with the children. Ian will miss her help cleaning tables at the Londesborough Lions Pancake Breakfasts. She would often stop for a chat while out on her daily walks around town. She will also be missed at the Clinton Adult Day centre where she volunteered twice a week for many years. We pray that knowing she lived her life to the fullest and held tight to her faith may bring you comfort in these difficult days.

To Diane, Paul and the Howatt Family,
My sincere prayers and condolences to all of you. It was a shock to me last Friday to learn of Dorothy's passing. Dorothy and I went to the same church and were in the same UCW group there. She has had me to her apartment at Maplehill for lunch, a trip to Bala and to help her make Christmas cards for Huronview residents. I will always remember Dorothy for being so proud of her family and grandchildren. Always so enthusiastic about everything she did. I will miss her telephone calls, her kindness and her friendship. RIP Dorothy.

Dear Dianne and Paul,
We are so shocked and saddened to learn of your loss. We were privileged to call ourselves friends of Mel and Dorothy as our paths crossed may times through Lions, Lioness, Square and Round Dancing Clubs and other social events. We were fortunate to be part of a long tradition of an annual gathering at the Bogie’s where we enjoyed Dorothy’s culinary treats and the fun of playing the game of Box. Dorothy was an exceptional hostess. We will miss her. Please accept our love and sympathy.
