Obituary of Dorothy Bogie

Passed away on her 77th birthday (January 8, 2021), while enjoying a beautiful day outdoors with friends. Dorothy Marie (Howatt) Bogie of Clinton was the beloved wife of the late Melvin Bogie (2009). Cherished mother of Dianne Parsons, Paul Bogie (Kelly), and daughter-in-law Nicky Bogie and predeceased by her son Michael Bogie (2017). Dear grandmother of Emily, Colby, Jarrett, Davis, Skylar, and Rachael. She will be missed by her siblings Ivan Howatt (Connie), Doreen Taylor (William), Doug Howatt (Sherry), Ron Howatt, and brother-in-law David Webster. She was predeceased by sister Ruth Webster and sister-in-law Madeline (Eldon) Ritchie. She was the dear aunt and great aunt of several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was very active in the community. She was involved in the Londesborough United Church and choir, the Londesborough and Goderich Lions Clubs, the Blyth Theatre and Threshers Reunion, and various 4H Clubs. Dorothy enjoyed hiking, biking, square and round dancing. She will be sadly missed by friends from those activities. Dorothy’s family expresses thanks to her friends for their efforts and care during her final moments. Cremation has taken place and due to COVID-19 restrictions, a service will be held in the spring. As Dorothy was an active Lions member, please consider a donation to the Londesborough or Goderich Lions Club or the Canadian Cancer Society in recognition of Dorothy’s friends and family who have experienced cancer journeys.
