So sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. He was a great friend & neighbour. We traded lots of good conversations. You will miss him dearly. I missed him when he left Vanastra. So sorry for your loss! When my husband and our three oldest grandsons and I came in 2010, he and Aunt Doris were so kind to us. We visited with them for almost a week and had a great time. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip out to the farm he was so very proud of and saw the beauty of it through his eyes. He will be remembered and we are thankful to have had the opportunity to spend time with both Aunt Doris and Uncle George. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and to Muriel.

We only got to know George in the past few years when he lived in the village just around the corner from us. He & I would always manage to trade some humour back & forth when he would go by our house on his daily run to the mailbox, and humour he had lots of !! We always would part ways with a smile & a chuckle about something that was currently going on in the big wide world, or more likely just the recent events on our street. Recently I purchased George's little white trailer that he use to take his scooter chair in if he was heading someplace he needed it. The negotiating process took us about a year to complete when many a shrewd look and a sly smile to each other in the haggling process,...he finally won !!! I will always cherish him as a Friend that I wish I had met years earlier, and I will think of him every time I open the wee trailer & see his tire tracks on the floor. No doubt in my mind that he will be haggling the scooter rental guy in Heaven for the fastest scooter he's got just to terrorise his new neighbors !!
