Dear Joanne,
Your friend, partner Ed, will be remembered for how much he touched our lives with Love,Friendship,Kindness and Devotion to the family.
He was helpful, generous and willing to lend a hand to any person in need. His dry sense of humor and sensational grin make us smile with memories to treasure.
We celebrate his life this day with a heavy heart and say our goodbyes.

Jo,
Ed was such a special person, kind, thoughtful, generous, full of stories and always ready to help others.
He was always so considerate and thoughtful. I have such pleasant memories of you and Ed visiting with me. He was always so thoughtful and made sure that when you both would go to visit his mother, he would come and bring you to visit with me. We all spent such wonderful times together.
My fondest memory of his kindness and generosity was when he gave me an oil lamp. This was when I had gone to visit both of you at his mother's. He had brought us to see the house of his aunt who had recently passed away. In the house there were many oil lamps and I asked him if I could have one. I did not know that he had a favourite one and, unknowingly, that is the one that I choose. Without any hesitation he gave it to me. Since that day that oil lamp has been on the my mantle and has been used so many times. That was the best souvenir of him that he could have given me and I will treasure it.
I feel so lucky that I got to know him. He will live in my heart and my memories forever.
He will be watching over you Jo, that I know.
Love,
Lou

My heart sunk when I heard this news. I have had so many laughs and good times with Ed (Eddy, we used to call him, but I think he wanted us to move on from that!..) over the years. I have fond Merrickville memories of him - like when he was Santa in the Christmas parade, and Graham Lake cottage memories too. I can even remember when we (the cousins) were kids playing at Grandpa Wilson's house. All the memories are alive and well inside me, and I am so thankful for that.
Thank you Joanne for loving my cousin so selflessly. You brought him so much happiness. I know that he is with the Lord now, but we will miss him so much here. YOU will miss him so much. I'm so sorry for your huge loss.
with love,
Lydia

Your life was a blessing, Your memory a treasure, You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure!
I am learning Ed that grief is really just love, it's all the love you want to give but now cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corner of your eyes, the lump in your throat and in your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go!
The last thing you would want me to do is grieve but sweetie it's just my love for you with no place to go.
Do not worry, I am not alone,,with you in my heart and my family and friends I will be fine, just rest now and remember you promised me you would look over me in heaven. Love you sweetie forever!y

Dear Joanne and family,
We are truly sorry for your loss. We know what you are going through right now is very difficult and just know that we are here for you.
Ed was a kind and gentle man who when we were around, was always eager to spark up a conversation and share stories. I always remember while visiting at grandma and grandpas cottage, he was so kind and took a liking to both young Capri and Cayman.
You and your family are in our hearts. Rest peacefully Ed. You will be missed dearly.
Love Danielle, Jared, Cayman & Capri xo

Dear Joanne & family.
This was sad news. Ed was a special guy and has had to battle through a lot of serious health problems in recent years. We take comfort in knowing that he is free from all that now and is at home with the Lord.
Love, Aunt Charlotte & Uncle Allan
