Obituary of Bud Langley
Langley: Walter (Bud) G.
Bud passed peacefully and surrounded by his family, on Sunday, September 16, 2018 in Victoria Hospital, London at the age of 88.
Bud was the beloved husband of Patricia Langley (nee) Murray and cherished father of Georgina Anne and Blair Langley. Predeceased by his parents, Mary and Walter Langley. Bud was brother of the late William, Marjorie and Richard and survived by Sylvia and Michael.
Despite his cancer diagnosis in the spring of 2018, Bud enjoyed a beautiful summer in his beloved home in the village of Bayfield. Bud was involved in many aspects of village life. He was a long time member of The Bayfield Historical Society and The Bayfield Lions Club. He was very proud to be part of a group who's motto is 'We Serve.' He was also a member of The Bayfield International Croquet Club and enjoyed many afternoons at the courts and cocktail parties.
He spent many beautiful days sailing Lake Huron with his family and friends.
Bud started his life 'in the bush' as a young man in mining exploration. This lead to his interest in aviation and flying The North in his float plane. Bud and Pat were partners in life and business. W.G. Langley Ltd. was a diamond drilling company which they successfully ran for 25 years and was rooted in the Canadian North and they also worked abroad. Bud and Pat were part of founding Wiskair Helicopter Company. They met many interesting and unique personalities in the Canadian Mining Industry and made life long friends.
His family would like to thank the medical team who cared for him at London Regional Cancer Program at Victoria Hospital and especially his niece Alison who is a member of that team. He received the best and most compassionate care possible.
It is Bud's quiet wisdom, strength, and boundless sense of humour that we will miss.
Friends will be received at the Falconer Funeral Homes - Bluewater Chapel, 201 Suncoast Drive, East, Goderich on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. followed by private family arrangements.
