Geachte familie Oskam,
Via deze weg willen wij jullie condoleren met het overlijden van uw man en jullie (schoon)vader en opa.
Wij herinneren Oom John als een vriendelijke, vrolijke man!
Ook mooie herinneringen wanneer Oom John en Tante Annie in Nederland waren en ons bezochten.
Hij was altijd belangstellend in ons en waar wij mee bezig waren!
We zullen hem dan ook nooit vergeten.

mijn oprechte deelneming met het verlies van jouw man, vader, opa en overgrootvader. een mooie dienst van herinnering en hoe hij was voor jullie, hard werkend en liefdevol voor zijn gezin. ik heb fijne herinneringen aan hem en jouw Annie hoe jullie soms zo totaal onverwachts aan konden komen rijden in Nederland. Met mijn moeder herinneringen gedeeld hoe fijn zij het hadden gevonden om bij jullie op bezoek te zijn geweest in 1987. Heel veel sterkte de komende tijd om dit verlies te verwerken en een plekje te geven.

Dearest Oskams. In 1988, I entered the Oskam world via a donut shop door. My only regret, was that I always fell asleep on the those darn Lazyboy chairs when we visited the farm in those early days. Those naps have haunted me since because they subsequently lead to the question that John pondered in front of all of my friends in 1992...." Where did you get this kind of a creep?" My friends still remind me of that moment and it makes me smile, because he said it with love and with that famous John Oskam smirk that so many of us will miss so much.
Our friendship and my love for John grew stronger over the 32 years. He was a kind , compassionate man that I always felt comfortable around. Our denominational upbringings were different, but we always sought the commonalities and were united in our mutual admiration and God's big picture.
I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Ena, Rita and Koos, Matthea and John, Mary Jane and Phil and to all of your families. You are all still in my heart. I miss you and I hope that we get to meet soon, hug and reminisce with big smiles (and probably sarcasm!)
And to Ann, Yolanda and Simon, Marietta, Judith and Mark, Linda and Troy and all of your wonderful families, you will always be my family and John will live on in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
My life has been blessed by knowing John Oskam...father-in-law and friend. . I will miss him dearly.

I have many memories of John over the last 40 years from dealing with him at T.B. Allen's to his excellent carpentry skills doing my house renovations. I have met up with him and Ann over the last few years and we would always have a chat. He will be missed.

Our condolences to John`s family. I met John at Barliffs in the summers we were home from Belgium. It was a pleasure to share about our faith in the Lord Jesus. He was not happy about not being able to drive his car! It is a comfort to know he is with the Lord he loved. We look forward to be there together forever.
