Obituary of John Oskam

JOHN OSKAM Safe in the arms of Jesus, John Oskam, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 18 at the age of 81. He was surrounded by his family. He took great pride in working hard and providing for his family and he was very strong in his faith. He is the beloved husband of Gerda “Ann” (teLindert) Oskam and he was dearly loved by his four daughters: Yolanda (Simon) VanDriel, Marietta Uher, Judith (Mark) Damsma Linda (Troy) Falconer. He is the cherished grandfather of Derrick (Sarah), Edwin (Jenn), Colin (Amanda), Sylvia (Brandon), Katelyn (Will), Laura, Emily, Jessica (Matt), Nick and six great grandsons. He is survived by his four sisters: Ena Oskam, Rita (Koos) Verburg, Matthea (John) Hoogenboom, Mary Jane (Phil) Sizer, his brother-in-law Gerrit (Tiny) teLindert and his sister-in-law Betsy (Roelf) Dyk. A private family funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Falconer Funeral Home; interment at Clinton Cemetery. Pastor Gary VanLeeuwen will be officiating. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Huron Christian School bursary fund in Clinton.
