Gayle and family, I am so sorry to learn of Pat’s passing. He was a fine man, a deeply committed social democrat, wise, smart, kind and very funny. He was so proud of his family. I feel privileged to have known Pat as a treasured colleague at Queen’s Park during the Bob Rae Government and with Gayle as great hosts to me and my family on visits to the Littke Inn. There will a very bright star in the heavens now to help comfort Pat’s loved ones. May you have a peaceful journey home my friend.

Dear Gayle,
My sincere condolences to you and your extended family at this difficult time.
It has been such a privilege for me to count you and Pat as friends for so many years.
In the summer of ‘86 when I was desperately looking for prizes for the 1st annual Bayfield Run, you and Pat donated a bottle of champagne and have continued to do so for 35 years!
I enjoyed playing croquet with Pat Waters. He was creative, patient but most of all he was fun. I loved that low gravelly laugh of his, he could certainly lighten the mood if things weren’t going well!
The match we most anticipated was in the early spring. We would be summoned to Londesborough to play doubles croquet with Hugh Gregory and Peter Hardy. Pat and I both treasured those afternoons, what a treat for us “younger” guys to be sharing space with those two legends.
I would like to quickly mention what a wonderful tribute Don and Bill wrote last weekend. I was sitting beside Pat at the AGM when he made the motion to allow women full membership in the club.
The matchless Joe Beechie (Pres) without flinching or uttering a word - stood up, picked his briefcase up off the table, walked over and got into his Buick and then spewed dust down the length of Cantrick’s laneway. Pat considered that a good start and his persistence would eventually come to fruition!
Gayle, your Patrick was adored and will be missed.
Love,
Michael

To Gayle and family,
My deepest condolences to you during this time. I have such fond memories of watching TV with Pat in the den, and coming by (unannounced) for visits here and there! Gayle - you and Pat were always so welcoming and loving.
I later enjoyed running into Pat during his afternoon visits to the Inn, where I would catch him nabbing bottles of wine for home...and I never told a soul.
Thinking of Pat these days, and the wonderful memories he left behind for us all.
I look forward to my father teaching me some of Pat's croquet tricks in the years to come.
Sending best wishes and love,
Marga

Dear Gayle and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Pat was one of Bayfield’s finest ambassador’s, on so many levels. He’ll always be missed by his family, his friends and everyone in our lovely little town of Bayfield. Rest in Peace Pat… I’m hopeful you find a croquet match, joining your other team mates, who have gone before.
Warm Condolences,
Heather Gregory Yuhasz

To the Waters Families,
We are saddened to learn of the passing of Pat.
I loved his stories. He would start one, then wander all over the place ( or so I thought), but then he would end up returning to the original premise. All the twists and turns of his story fit together to make his point. He was unique. He will be missed.
With sincere sympathy,
Sue Burton & Mike Beatty
