Obituary of Florence Elizabeth Jane Miller

Florence Elizabeth Jane Miller (nee Garrett) passed away peacefully at Huronview Home, Clinton on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 in her 95th year, with her daughter at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Reginald Leroy Miller, son Brian Edward Miller, son-in-law Michael Robert Gallant, daughter-in-law Wendy Miller, brothers Joseph and Gordon Garrett, and sister Marguerite “Peg” Jones. Florence was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 12, 1926 to Edith Jane Newton and Thomas L Garrett, and grew up in Neepawa Manitoba. She came to Ontario and met her husband Reg Miller and made a life together on their family farm. Married 62 years. They later moved into Clinton where she worked at Mary’s Sewing Center, and then the Board and Batten. She loved to sew, making wedding and brides maid dresses, loved playing the piano, and flower arranging. She painted decorative plates and fired them in her kiln. She also loved to dance and play cards. Her favourite dogs where Tippy, Loftus, and Max who always came to visit with Brian. She travelled across Canada, to England to visit her sister, to Florida, and to the Caribbean. Florence is survived by her son Barrie Miller (Bev), daughter Wendy Gallant, daughter-in-law Louise Miller, grandchildren who always called her GOGO, Blair, Graham (Naivis), Melissa, Lee (Rochelle), Danny, Cindy (Al). Her great grandchildren Ryan, Drew, Colin, Brett, Cameron, Bennett, Valentina, & Kingly. Fondly remembered by Lorna. She also had a very close connection with Ken (Helen), Gary (Maxine), Jack (Joan) Merner and their families. At Florence’s request cremation has occurred. A graveside service will be held at Clinton Cemetery on Saturday October 10, 2020 at 11 a.m. Please register by rsvp to attend.
