Obituary of Marie Verna Park

Park, Marie Verna Suddenly at Clinton Public Hospital, on Wednesday February 5, 2014 in her 74th year. Marie was born in Colborne Township to Roy & Lenora (Tideswell) Ashton. She is survived by her husband of more than 56 years, Bill Park, and 8 children: Valerie Bendig (Mike), Stephen (Bill Downey), Vicki Henry (Ted), Tom (Elaine), Wanda (Jamie Rice), Patti (Wayne Wilson), Todd (Stacey), and Brad (Ashley). Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She will be missed by her sisters: Gail & Elmer Cook, and Marilyn Schultz, as well as sister in law Mary & Gordon Schultz, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marie liked to meet people and did so through many years of bowling, playing cards, and of course, her many years of work with the Legion Ladies Auxiliary 109, Goderich. She loved to cook and bake, and she also had a great love of genealogy and a wonderful memory for dates and facts. Visitation at the Falconer Funeral Homes - Bluewater Chapel 201 Suncoast Dr., E., Goderich on Monday February 10, 2014 from 11 until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #109 Goderich will hold a service at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. The Reverend Canon Allan Livingstone will officiate. Spring Interment Colborne Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Charity of One's Choice would be greatly appreciated.
