Bob joins me in extending sincere condolences to Bud and all of the family. Laura May was a pillar of the community and will be sadly missed. Many of my interactions with her in recent years were through church happenings. She was always willing to add her beautiful singing voice to our little choir when we sang. She contributed her knitting and quilting talents to UCW projects. She was a member of the UCW Social Committee for years, and she made tea and coffee and prepared and cleaned up at almost every luncheon and function that we had! She cut and served up dozens of pieces of pie in her role as "The Pie Lady" at our annual Roast Beef dinners. She performed these and other tasks cheerfully with that radiant smile on her face, and she often said, " I want to keep helping as long as I am able!" I will treasure that last backdoor chat we had on her very last day.

It was at a Chamney family reunion that I last saw Aunt Laura May. I have very fond memories of our family travelling from Camp Borden to visit Uncle Bud and Aunt Laura May's family farm. Driving the tractor...the stinky barn...all new, unforgettable experiences for this (then) young kid. What stands out for me after all the years that have passed is Aunt Laura May's smile...it would light up the room. Our condolences to the entire Chamney family.

Our sincerest condolences Bud, Paul, Larry, Lorraine, Doug, Eldon and their families. Laura May will be greatly missed in our community. In the 38 years that we've lived in this village she always greeted you with a smile. The most radiant smile I ever saw on Laura May was the day, during the spring lockdown, they had an anniversary parade and she rang the bell at the former library building. It was a grand parade and well deserved. May your memories bring comfort always.

I didn't grow up with my sister because of our age difference, but later in life we grew close and I got to know a funny, kind and energetic person. On many a trip back to Ontario we stayed with Laura May and Bud. She was always up in the morning before us, and there was breakfast waiting for us. Then in the morning were the walks around Auburn and again in the evening. There was the constant visiting of nieces and nephews and kids and grandkids and siblings, who were always made welcome. She always showed off her quilts that she had made and they were a work of art. We love you and will miss you. There is a big hole in our lives, especially when we come back to Ontario to visit.
love and hugs Joyce and Ernie
