It was a pleasure to know you Hilda throughout the years from when Diane & l met at bingo when we were kids and all the times we had sleepovers and pool parties as teens. Little did l know we’d have a life long family connection when l introduced her to my favourite cousin, Jasen and she still reminds me she could have known him two weeks sooner if l hadn’t been too lazy to walk down the road from my grandmother’s to my aunt and uncle’s to introduce them sooner!
We all ended up in Orlando and it was nice to see you when you visited Jay & Diane at Christmas, but it was really quite unexpected when we bought a house in Bayfield a few years ago and ended up on Victoria street with you as our neighbour!
I’m glad we were able to fit in a few coffee visits in-between your busy schedule!
Your “dance card” was always full, with a full parking lot- forget the community centre-all the action was at Hilda’s!!
Paul loved you being so close by as “cabbage rolls “ are one of his favourites and the world famous ones were just across the street and the potato salad and the stuffed peppers...
I know our journey took us elsewhere and sadly our time in Bayfield was brief, but l know Paul is happy you passed on your “trade secrets” to Diane and life is bringing us full circle to Florida again and he knows the good eats aren’t too far away!
We’ll miss you, Hilda, but Paul & l know we’ll see you again...
Well done, good and faithful servant!
