Obituary of Katelyn Merner

Surrounded by her family at her residence on Monday February 25, 2013 our dearest young girl, Katelyn Adell Merner went to be with the lord at the age of 24. She has been battling cancer, yet fought and lived life to the fullest. Even in all her pain she gave hope, strength, and love to everyone she met. It was so powerful, it enriched us all, and was an inspiration to many. Cherished daughter of Shelley (Middleton) & Dan Merner of RR #3 Clinton. Beloved sister of Kelsey. Special cousin and best friend of Ashley Middleton. Her furry friends Roxie & Pocket. Survived by her loving grandparents Garry & Maxine Merner, and Audrey Middleton. Also loved by aunts & uncles, Jim & Peggy (Bartliff) Middleton of Clinton, Marnie & Grant Hoflinger of Waterloo, Paul & Vicki (Merner) Middleton of Clinton, Cindy & Steve Taylor of Brucefield, Fred Middleton & Donna Gerger of Clinton, Elaine Van Wonderen of Clinton, and Rod & Lori Merner of Bayfield. Lovingly remembered by her devoted cousins, Tim & Sarah, Natalie & Brad, Paul, Stacey, Mike & Kaleb, Ashley & Andrew, Shawn, Derek, Jamie & Tenille, Jack & Cohen, Devon, Richelle, Shelby, Tara, Katrina & Brad, Mckayla, and Brianne. Predeceased by her grandpa Don Middleton. A private funeral service will be held on Thursday February 28, 2013. A Celebration of Katelyn's life for family & friends will be held at the Bluewater Shores Lakefront Resort 77683 Bluewater Highway, RR #1 Bayfield, Ontario, on Saturday March 2, 2013 from 2-6 p.m. In Lieu of Flowers donations to Katelyn Merner Memorial Award - honouring a graduating student representing inspiration, determination, and a love for life (cheques made payable to Katelyn Merner Memorial Award), or the charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated.
