Obituary of William "Roy" Young

Peacefully at his residence at Queensway Retirement Home, Hensall on Sunday, August 24, 2014 William "Roy" Young, formerly of Blyth in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Helene "Iris" (Snell) Young for 61 years. Loving father of Barbara & Ray Storey of Winthrop, Ken & Corrie Young of Wingham, Linda Young of London, Nance & Louis Greidanus of Londesborough and Julie & Wayne Wheeler of Blyth. Cherished by 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Also missed by nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Helen Walker of New Hamburg. Predeceased by his parents John & Caroline Young, an infant son Robert John and brother in law Lloyd Walker. Roy spent his life farming, 28 of those working for G. L. Hubbard Ltd. In Blyth and his retirement years spent woodworking. More recently he really enjoyed helping his grandson at D. K. small engines. Friends will be received at the Falconer Funeral Homes, Blyth Chapel, 407 Queen St. Blyth on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Major Denise Walker officiating. Interment Blyth Union Cemetery. Memorian Donations to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
