so sorry to hear of the passing of Irene. We have only known Irene for 10 years or so having met her when we became neighbours on Newgate St. in Goderich. However we have had many enjoyable visits both at her home on newgate and at Goderich place. She was always a joy to visit with and we were always amazed at her wit, intelligence, knowledge of world affairs and the world in general. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

We are so sorry to hear of Irene's passing. We have maintained a reasonable contact with her over the years. She and Fordyce were acquaintances of Mary's late parents. We attended school with Carolyn and Joan Fisher/Clark. Irene was quite a forthright lady with a cagey and wily sense of humour. She always enjoyed a good laugh and a good joke! A true lady, she was, who knew how to wink with a friendly smile! She was pretty rigid in her beliefs, of course, and always wanted to cling stalwartly to the old traditions. We have enjoyed her friendship, which dates back decades. We are in Florida, and, unfortunately, will not be able to attend your tributes for her, but we will offer a memorial donation to St. George's in her name, on our return later this month.

So sorry for the loss of your mom. I considered her one of my good friends, a sweet lady. When I thanked her for a good deed she did for me when I was young, her reply was that my memory was too long! She will already have her wings! My sympathy to you all.

It is so hard to lose someone you love, and though words can't take away the sadness you feel, I want to tell you that I care very deeply about you and I know what you are going through. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. You will miss Irene. The beauty of love lives on in memories, in tears, and in our hearts.
May the Lord gently hold you and lead you through this time.
In Christian Love, Lorraine Krause.
PS....I will never forget the wonderful times we had together when our family lived at Goderich in 1955. The Clark family was my family also. Irene and Fordyce were like my second parents.....and Mary and Margaret were Norma and my sisters.......sisters in Christ , for sure. The Auburn Quartette is one of the most uplifting & rewarding memories that I have ever experienced.
We are confident that she is in heaven with Fordyce. (our assurance is found in the following Bible passage, 1 Thessalonians 4:17).
Blessings, Lorraine
