Dear Aunt Janie, Ron, Rob & Anita and the rest of the family,
So sorry to hear about your loss. I recall with great fondness spending time on the farm. Uncle Martien was always patient, despite me generally being less than helpful. He was a good man, happy to teach, quick to laugh, and, although I'm sure it happened, I never saw him angry. I'm sorry to have missed the visitation and the funeral, but I'm praying for your family in this difficult time.
All the best,
Rodney & Tonya

Our deepest condolences to the whole family at the loss of a father, uncle and brother. Uncle Martin was a man of God and we can take some comfort that he is now with our eternal saviour. As I remember him uncle Martin always had a smile and kind word and took a genuine interest in people.
He will be missed.

Dear Janie and Family,
We are saddened to learn of Martien's death but can only smile at the memories. I recall the days at Exeter Frozen Foods when the young butcher helped coach me with appropriate meat wrapping skills. At the time Janie, you were beginning your newly married life, living in the rental house belonging to Dad & Mom. I remember Martien's excitement when Rob arrived. Big baby! Martien used to wave his big butcher knife around while telling a story and he often had a story to share.
Over the years we would visit and share a chuckle at one of the Wlts family gatherings or summer BBQ we happened to stop in at. Sometimes there was a conversation shared at Brussels Stock Yards. Martien & Lorne shared an interest in all things farming. Not such a bad way to begin a conversation. Always a smile. Always his distinctive chuckle!
Allow your memories to bring you joy. Martien lived life to the fullest. You have been blessed to share his life.
Sincere Sympathy
Margaret & Lorne Hern

Janie and Family: I am so very deeply saddened by the death of your husband, Martin. I have so many happy memories of time spent with the two of you. He will certainly be missed. I am sorry that I and my family will be unable to attend the visitation and the funeral as we will all be together in Ottawa for Christmas and the baptism of our newest grandchild, Annabelle. You will, however, be very much in our thoughts and prayers. I plan to visit in the New Year.
Love Maria
