I will miss Irene forever. I first met her several years ago in London. Once both she and I moved to Bayfield I was able to spend many hours with her. Sometimes it was just in conversation but most often it was over a Bridge hand while enjoying a glass of wine.
I always found her to be interesting and a superb teller of fascinating life stories.
I will miss her presence at Christmas , Easter, Thanksgiving, and every possible celebration that I was so lucky to share with her. I told her as often as possible how she enhanced my life by her presence, to which she nearly always replied, "Is that so?", followed by her beautiful smile.
She was gracious to the end of her life even wanting to be socially proper when she no longer had the strength to do so.
What a uniquely wonderful lady she was and I am the better for having sharing time with her.

Dear Roma and Leslie:
I was so sad to read of Irene's death in the local paper today.
I have thought of Irene often in the past 2 years, since the deaths of my parents, Jim and Cathie Marcellus, in the spring of 2014.
Irene and Leslie were great friends of my parents' and I know shared many wonderful times together, particularly in Hawaii.
I will always remember Irene's magnificent good looks and terrific sense of humour. She was a unique character with an acute intelligence.
With sincere condolences and warm regards: Libby Marcellus

I would like tooffer my condolences in the passing of Irene. I am a volunteer at Goderich Place and got to know Irene there.
she had a love for music and so enjoyed the entertainment. I remember one particular night we had a campfire out at the back and the last song of the night was Good Night Irene and I sang it to her as she was going inside and she smiled and smiled as she walked by me! She was a lovely lady with strong opinions and I miss seeing her. May she rest in peace!
