Obituary of Ivan James McClymont

MCCLYMONT: IVAN JAMES - May 2, 1929 – July 5, 2016 Ivan McClymont died at the Seaforth Manor, Seaforth, on Tuesday July 5, 2016. Loved by his late wife Margaret Jean Russell for 33 years. Great Historian and editor of the History of Stanley Township Book 1983. Farmed and operated McClymont Century Orchards at Varna and attended the weekly Bayfield market. Many people toured their book collections from as far away as England and Australia. Ivan and Marg travelled extensively, Europe, Ireland, Bristish Isles, and the USA. They knew every book store across Canada. Ivan is survived by his mother in law Agnes Russell of Seaforth. Sisters and brothers in law Mary (Don) Barker of Burlington, Margaret Robinson of Cambridge, and Joan (Nick) Whyte of Seaforth. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Mabel McClymont, brother Bob McClymont, and sisters in law Gail Orpen, and Faye Paterson McClymont. Ivan was uncle to 15 nieces and nephews, 28 great nieces and nephews, and two great great nephews. Friends will be received at the Falconer Funeral Homes 153 High St., Clinton, on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Clinton United Church, 105 Ontario St., Clinton, on Saturday July 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. Cremation with interment of ashes at Bayfield Cemetery.
