Fay and I were best friends, we met when we were 16 years old. As girls we were with 4 friends, but Fay was always my best friend, we shared everything. We went cycling together when the others didn't know about it. When she worked on the island of Terschelling in the Netherlands and she went home, she first came to visit me. When i was visiting my daughter in Rotterdam, she looked after my family with my husband. All these years we kept contact by letters and by phone.
Two years ago i talked to my oldest grandchild about Fay and she looked on the internet to find the address and more information. We emailed with the Huronview Home and a week later we could Skype with Fay and the people who took care of her. That was a beautiful moment and i think for a moment she remembered me. I will cherish that moment! She was my last friend...
