Obituary of Ina Mae Durst

DURST, Ina Mae Peacefully at Alexander Place, surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 22, 2017 in her 97th year. Ina Mae Durst, of Waterdown, formerly of Goderich and Clinton area until 2005, youngest daughter of Edward and Clara Maskell, beloved wife of the late Milford Durst (2004), dear mother of Eleanor Mae and Ron Steepe of Waterdown and Barbara (predeceased 2008) and Mike Southwood of Toronto. Loving grandmother of Linda Mae Ogilvie (David), Marjorie Lenko (Peter), Donna Shewchyk (Mark) and Chris Finkle and seven great-grandchildren; Liam and Ella Ogilvie, Emily Lenko, Vanessa, Isabella, Ava and Cole Shewchyk. Predeceased by sister Cepha Mary Grace Bell and brother Arthur Edward Maskell. Her education in Goderich High School included a two year business course which has served her well over the years. Ina Mae was an active member of the Benmiller United and Wesley-Willis United Church, former President of the Canadian Cancer Society for Huron County and former member of the Horticultural Society. Ina Mae and Milford were owners of the 'Durst Farm and Garden Centre' in Clinton and were involved in many other community activities. In 2005, Ina Mae moved to Village Manor followed by Alexander Place in Waterdown. Her family extend their thanks to both caring staffs. In Waterdown she was welcomed by St James United Church, and continued to take part in many family events and activities. A visitation was held on Tuesday, January 24 at the Kitching,Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home, 146 Mill Street, Waterdown, Ontario. Funeral Service will be held at Falconer Funeral Home, 153 High Street, Clinton, Ontario on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 1:30 pm followed by a Spring interment at Colborne Cemetery.
