It is with great sadness that we farewell Aunt Marie. Aunt Marie brought great happiness to the Stevenson family in Australia. We fondly remember her visits to us and her kindness. We young boys especially remember the fantastic Christmas we had in 1979 when she brought us all San Diego Charger T-Shirts from America. We remember the assistance she gave us when we were very poor. Most of all, we remember her laughter, her funny Scottish accent, kindness, love and gentle touch. She certainly impacted us all.
I can thank Aunt Marie as being the one person in my life who made a significant impact. It was her faith in me, her kindness, and her Gypsy ways that turned me around and put me on the right path. I remember fondly when she brought me to America to show me another world. I returned to Australia knowing that I was more than just a poor boy and that I could do anything in my life. It is to her that I owe my success in academics and life. It is also to her that I trace my own Gypsy ways and my thirst for travel to this very day. I miss her very much.
On behalf of my own family, we remember her with great fondness and it is with a heavy heart we bid farewell. Such a beautiful lady. (and a great singer too!)
