Obituary of Margaret Reynolds
MARGARET GRACE REYNOLDS, RN (ret)
Born on August 8, 1932; died suddenly on January 15, 2020.
Predeceased by her parents; Mary Ure (nee Pinder) and William Henry; her sister Barbara (nee
Henry) Kinsman; her husband James Bernard Reynolds and her youngest son James Walter
Fraser Reynolds.
While raising six children, Marg returned to College to become a Registered Nurse. Marg’s
career as a RN at the Alexandra & Marine General Hospital in Goderich ON, spanned almost 30
years. She was so very proud of her work on the obstetrics (baby) ward.
“When I was young, I dreamed of having twelve grand babies and a baby grand piano. I settled
for an up-right and half a dozen kids!”
Marg loved to celebrate, especially with her kids and when food was involved! She was always
up for going out. Her participation in the PROBUS Retiree Social Club was important to her and
kept her engaged. She also keenly followed politics and she was fiercely patriotic.
Marg played piano or was part of a choir since she was a little girl. She would brave all sorts of
weather to sing with her beloved Blyth Festival Singers. Later in life she took organ lessons. She
loved to travel and while she could, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Mom nurtured
cherished kindergarten friendships, loved history, gardening, reading, knitting, embroidery and
crafts. Mom’s knitted, colourful socks were always a prized possession, her hand-made cards
made you smile, her earlier drawings of tall ships were quite extraordinary, and she had a wry
sense of humour! Over the past two decades Mom pursued a keen interest in genealogy. Her
memories were fantastic, and she always had an intriguing family story. She was a driving force
in the production of the Pinder Family Tree book, published privately in 2017.
Terribly missed by her ‘kids’: Greg (Nina) Reynolds, Barb (Ben) Landman, Kate (Vern) Reynolds-
Braun, Mike (Claire) Reynolds, Margie (Bill) Reynolds-Rowsell and grandchildren: Megan and
Dean (fiancé Katryna Dykstra) Reynolds; nieces and nephew: Peggy Kinsman, Joy (Mike) Kelch,
Ann (Greg) Ryan, Nora Green, John Kinsman
“When they make me an angel, I want you to have a party!”
