Obituary of Wilma Radford
Wilma Knox Radford passed away peacefully on January 11, 2014, in her 90th year. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Jean (Govier) Radford of Clinton, her sister Gladys (Radford) Watters and brother-in-law Dr. William Watters of Goderich. Wilma was the very special and much loved aunt of Nancy (Wayne) Treitz of Stratford, Conrad (Nancy Plaxton) Watters of Ottawa, Carolyn (Michael Shepherd) Watters of Halifax, and Mark Watters of Winnipeg. She had many great (and great-great) nieces and nephews. Wilma grew up in Clinton but lived her entire adult life in London where she worked first as secretary to the Dean of Men at the University of Western Ontario and then for many years as medical secretary to Dr. J Bev Robinson. Wilma lived her life well. She sunned on the beach at the Bayfield cottage, read widely, rejoiced in a good hockey game, dressed stylishly, and sailed across the Atlantic on an ocean liner for a six week adventure in 1950s Europe. She had an MGA sports car, a set of well-used golf clubs, many friends, her own house, and for years she was the proud owner of a beautiful marmalade cat named Victoria. Wilma lived a great life, and was independent to the end. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Diane Hawthorne for her caring interest over the years, and Wilma's kind neighbour and friend Inez King, London. Our appreciation as well to Wilma's second cousin, Jean Jardine of Clinton for her thoughtfulness to our aunt. A private family funeral is planned in Clinton in the spring.
