Obituary of Steven Hearn

On Saturday, January 5, 2012, at University Hospital, London, Steven William Hearn (45), of Clinton, surrounded by family and friends, died due to a massive stroke. Steve leaves behind his loving wife, Janice (Johnson) Hearn, and two children, Jill (18) and Sam (14). He will be missed by Jeff Hearn and Elizabeth Thorpe-Hearn, Nancy and Andrew Ross, Don Hearn and Suh Jungsoon, and Linda and Eric Street; also by Tracy and Randy Walstedt, Lee McGrath, Scott and Masayo Johnson, and mother-in-law, Joan Johnson. Steve was a cherished uncle of Paul, Rachel, Ben and Tim Hearn; Gordon, Alex, Mary, and Glenn Ross; Parker Street; Jonathon and Angie Walstedt; Jason, Adam, and Alley McGrath; Maya and Mika Johnson, and great-niece, Maddie McGrath. Steven is predeceased by his parents, Bill and Mary Hearn, of Clinton, and his father-in-law, Tom Johnson, of Essex. Steven was an avid 'computer geek', who worked at CoreSolutions Development in London for 17 years. He was actively involved in too many organizations to list, but Clinton United Church, Clinton Minor Soccer, Goderich Laketown Band and Thatotherchoir, to name a few. He will always be remembered for his use of Apple products; as a #1 Rush fan; as a tireless volunteer; and as an incredible drummer/percussionist. A reception of friends and family will be held at the Betty Cardno Centre, Friday, January 11, 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of the life of Steven Hearn will be held Saturday, January 12, 2:00 p.m., at Clinton United Church. Donations may be directed to the Hearn children's education fund, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Clinton United Church. Steve would encourage everyone to consider becoming an organ donor, as he was, and to use Apple products exclusively - as he did.
