I did not know your dad well, but I lived in Goderich for 13 summers and was a friend of Mr. De Jaeger's neighbour Vicki Hartmann. Izaak always spoke to me if he saw me and we've even shared coffee time at the mcDonald's in Walmart when I would see him there on a Tuesday when I'd taken the Seniors' bus to the plaza. and he would be there waiting for his friends. He was a lovely gentle man.

My Condolences to your Family. I always enjoyed Ike when he was our neighbour of Goderich Hydro on Waterloo St. He was always greeting us and giving us a hard time. I think he did enjoy our company and I know I enjoyed his Company. He came on a few occasions out to our new place of business in the Industrial Park after the Tornado just to keep us on our toes. He was one of those characters I enjoyed talking to. Again my Condolences to your family. Tim Martin Goderich

Although I did not know him, I do know how very much he was loved, cherished, and revered by his family through my conversations with my dear friend, Sophia. So sorry to hear about the passing of your heit/pake. You don't know me but every time he came to the Dutch store, we had a talk about Friesland (Tzummarum) where he was from. He really liked the fact that I also was from there so every now and then we had to talk Frisian! He loved making stampot boerenkool when his son would come over because "he liked it so much..."
