Our sincere condolences to Janette and family. We are thankful for the memory of having a good visit with you both at the last Anderson reunion in Blythe. I will always remember Doug from our GM days. When ever one was involved with a project or meeting with Doug you wanted to make sure you had your pees and cues in order. That was just a reflection of the high standard that Doug represented both in life and his career. Rest on peace cousin Doug.

Janette & Family,
I had the privilege and honour of working for Doug back when he was the Quality Assurance Manager. He rewarded hard work and talent with both coaching and respect.
He always spoke fondly of both you, Janette and his boys, Justin, Dwayne and Andrew. The memories he shared of boating up in the North Channel with you and coaching hockey with his boys. Of course, at work we heard all the fun things you can do with our vehicle at the GM Proving Ground - or how to build things in Australia.
I always understood Doug's long hours as his dedication to our business and the team he led. But at his retirement get-together at work, he mentioned that he promised you he would retire at age 60. And I saw that as his dedication to you, his loving partner of so many years.
After Doug retired, I was grateful to stay in touch. We enjoyed hearing about the winters in Florida, the infamous house renovation in Goderich, the roadster in the summer. Retirement certainly agreed with him.
Please accept our deepest condolences.
In nautical terms ...
Fair Winds and Following Seas Doug. You can rest now.
Kindest regards,
-Andrew Hui and Caroline Grenier

I was fortunate to play hockey under Doug Henry and spend a considerable amount of time at the Henry house over the years. I am truly saddened to hear this news - as he was just too young. Doug was so much more than a hockey coach to me, but someone for a group of young boys to look up to and respect and a model for how to carry ones self both on and off the ice. These are traits we all still carry with us. Thoughts and prayers with the family.

I had the fortunate pleasure of working closely with Doug at GDLS for about 5 years before his retirement. I will always remember him fondly for his wisdom, insight, stories and the way he would make you question yourself just to see if you thought things through. He made time for you and always smiled when you saw him.
Friday afternoon “ drinks” in his office....it was really just water in my martini glass ...really it was...but it was fun!
In the winter i would toss snowballs at his office window if I could see him working as I walked by outside to remind him to go home.
He was a rare kind of man and a very kind man too.
