The family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Douglas Wayne Henry at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich on Saturday, July 6, 2019 in his 68th year after a brief fight with nodular melanoma.

Loving husband for almost 50 years of Janette (nee Merrill) Henry.

Dear father and father-in-law of Justin, Dwayne and Jaylene, Andrew and Chelsea. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Rachel (Mark), Alison, Juliana, Wilson, Cordelia, Everhett and great-grandfather of Adaya. Brother and brother-in-law of Bill & Myra, Randy, Don, Larry and Carol, Bob McNeil (late Mary Lou), Ruth Scholey (late Charles), Marg and Glen Gagan, Sandra Connell (late Clayton), Bill and Allana Merrill, MaryLyn and Carl Krauter. Predeceased by his parents Ross and Bernice Henry and parents-in-law Charles and Evelyn (Wilson) Merrill.

Doug devoted over 40 years to GM Diesel/GDLSC and in retirement enjoyed his winters in Florida, golfing, going for rides in the roadster or walking around the square with Zeus by his side. A Celebration of Doug's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 109, 56 Kingston Street, Goderich on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Unit, the Goderich Lions Club Camp Klahanie or a charity of your choice.
