Obituary of Wade Alan Lacroix

Wade Alan Lacroix in his 69th year, a resident of Goderich, Ontario went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 12th, 2020. Born the 11 of October 1951, Halifax Nova Scotia. Wade spent his childhood in Dartmouth Nova Scotia and later in his teens moved to Kingston, Ontario. At 16 he joined the Canadian Army reserves and served well into his twenties. He attended Dalhousie University where he played football with passion. Wade met his wife and love of his life, Maria L’Italien in Kingston in 1974 and married the following year. He joined the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in 1975 . Wade was a man of honour, integrity and charisma, a visionary who had a compelling career in Tactical-Rescue (TRU) and retired as OPP Inspector. Wade went on to work for Bruce Power as chief of security where he shared his experience, knowledge and drive for excellence. In 2014 until 2018 Wade went to work in the United Arabic Emirates where he was honoured to further share his passion for leadership and vision. Wade’s loss will be felt by all those who had the good fortune of being influenced by his strength and fervour for action. His Christian faith was central to his life and he was most proud of being included as a member of the body of Christ. Wade loved nature and to be on the water initiating his children to wilderness camping and canoeing at a young age. He fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a sailboat and spent memorable summers with our mother sailing in the North Channel. The only thing that could pull him away from sailing was his love for his family. The boat was sold to buy a cottage on Manitoulin Island where he had hoped for many more years surrounded by his grand-children. He is survived by his wife Maria Lacroix, his four children Erika (Dennis Schilthuis), Matthew (Abigail) Leah (Jordan MacDougall) and Mark (Samantha). His grandchildren, Niah, Samuel, Micah, Hannah, Elizabeth, Callum, Liam, Walter and Anne. His beloved sister Anne (Chris Daniels) and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Reginald (2007) and Helen Lacroix (née McCready, 2019), sisters Lynn Taylor (2011) and Terry McLaughlin (2014). 2 Corinthians, 5:1. For we know that if our house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Be with God.
